08 · From journal to wiki
Day 30 — Nov 4
Decision: the useful parts of this vault go public as a wiki for alliance management. The
journal stays a journal — I’m not interested in narrating myself to strangers, and the
private project pages (the desk work, the harness proposal draft) stay publish: false.
The export pipeline already exists; wiring the wiki template to it took an evening. If
you’re reading this, the automation worked.
Day 31 — Nov 5
Argus alpha crossed a line I wasn’t sure it would cross: it found cheaters in our own alliance. Not marginal maybes — outlier patterns too consistent to be human, from members I would never have flagged through ordinary interaction. Two of them are people I genuinely like. The pattern signatures that did it: sub-second dig claims at 04:13 seven days running, an emoji on every dig ever claimed and not a single like or sticker in three weeks, reaction latencies with near-zero variance. Humans are noisy; these weren’t noisy. Details and the (many) open problems are on the Argus page.
Day 32 — Nov 6
Closing entry for this phase. Where things stand:
- Rules v0.3 published to the wiki — the management-facing deliverable.
- Psychology page written — the half leadership keeps underestimating. Auto users aren’t lazy strangers; they’re the competitive core, and they can be reasoned with using math.
- Argus in alpha, crashing every ~6 hours, already worth it.
- The harness proposal: still no reply. Following up once, then letting it go.
Primary motive unchanged: this game’s tech is the most fun I’ve had with a keyboard in years, and I’d keep pulling the thread with zero alliance context. Secondary motive, on schedule: the alliance now has rules that bite, a leadership brief, and a tool that turns suspicion into evidence. Good month. Logging off this space; new entries when there’s something real to say.
